How the Daily Challenge Works

Every day at midnight UTC, a new challenge is generated from the date itself: the five team-and-era draws are derived from a deterministic seed, so a player in Tokyo, a player in Paris, and a player in Chicago all face exactly the same spins in the same order. There are no skips in daily mode β€” the draw you see is the draw everyone gets β€” and your finished record can be submitted to the daily leaderboard under any name you choose, no account needed.

You get one attempt per day, tracked on your device. When you finish, the game shows your record and a share text stamped with today's date, so a friend can open the same challenge and try to beat you on identical terms. At midnight UTC the seed rolls over and challenge number, spins, and leaderboard start fresh.

Why Only One Attempt?

In the classic mode you can replay forever, and that is the point β€” fishing for a dream draw is half the fun. The daily flips that: because everyone gets the same spins, a record is only comparable if everyone also gets the same number of tries. One attempt makes your 61-21 mean something against your friend's 58-24. No retries also changes how it feels to play: every pick is permanent, so the five decisions carry real weight.

The one-attempt rule lives in your browser rather than behind a login β€” this site has no accounts. Clearing site data technically resets it, but there is no prize pool here; the only thing at stake is whether your bragging rights are honest.

Daily vs. Classic: A Different Skill

Classic rewards patience across many runs β€” era knowledge, category balance, and knowing when to burn a skip. The daily is a test of adaptation: you cannot reroll a bad franchise or dodge a thin decade, so the skill is squeezing the strongest five out of whatever the date hands you. A weak draw day is the great equalizer β€” everyone is building from the same scraps, and the leaderboard shows who adapted best.

Seasoned players treat the two modes differently: in classic they chase the perfect 82-0; in the daily they chase the best possible record for that specific draw, which some days simply is not 82-0. Recognizing the ceiling of a draw β€” and building to hit it β€” is its own game.

Tips for Today's Draw

Since there are no skips, think a step ahead: before locking your first pick, glance at which positions the candidate pool covers and leave yourself an escape hatch for the positions that are hardest to fill β€” rim protection and rebounding tend to be the scarcest categories late in a draft. The simulation gates every category, so a lineup of four scorers and no boards will cap out in the sixties no matter how pretty the points column looks.

Remember that every stat line is era-adjusted: a 1960s rebounding monster is not being flattered by pace β€” his number is scaled before it enters the engine. Cross-era fives are judged fairly, so draft the player, not the decade.
