An NBA regular season is 82 games, so a perfect record is 82-0 β that's the real challenge, and the game above. 72-0 usually comes from one of two places: fans remembering the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, who set the record at 72-10, or simply mistyping 82-0. Either way, the game is the same: build the greatest starting five you can and see how many of the 82 games they win.
The Bulls' 72-10 stood as the wins record until the 2015-16 Warriors went 73-9 β and both teams still lost. That's the whole point of this challenge: even the best real teams in history lost games, so going 82-0 (or even 72-0) would take a literally perfect lineup.
How the 82-0 Challenge Works
