82-0 in Soccer Means a Perfect 38-0
82-0 is basketball's number — an 82-game NBA season with zero losses. Soccer's top leagues play fewer games, so the equivalent perfect season in the Premier League is 38-0 across 38 matches. It's the same fantasy in a different sport: not whether a great side wins the title, but whether a perfect XI could go a whole season without dropping a single game.
It has never quite happened. Arsenal's 2003-04 Invincibles went the entire Premier League season unbeaten — the closest anyone has come — but even they drew 12 matches. A true 38-0 with 38 wins remains soccer's great what-if, and that's exactly what this game lets you chase.
How the 82-0 Soccer Challenge Works
The slot machine deals you a random Premier League club-and-era combo — the Invincibles-era Arsenal, the treble-winning United, the centurion Manchester City — and you draft one player from that side into your XI. Four decades of legends fill the pool, from Henry, Bergkamp and Shearer to Gerrard, De Bruyne and Haaland, each carrying a real statistical line from his era.
Fill all eleven slots and the engine simulates the 38-match season. With eleven positions to get right, soccer is the cruelest member of the family — one weak link anywhere on the pitch is usually the difference between a title run and a perfect unbeaten season.
